a trip to kolkata
The day before i was just baffling with fury that all my companion to cal trip were slowly but surely cancelling the plans and i had to go for visa-passport-ram....it just happens with me that if i think of something to be done then tell that aim is completed i have this lingering feeling of restlessness and unesiness in me...i just don't know how to shut my mind(i guess this is a drawback on my side and will have rectify it somehow!)Anyways i caught a pessenger at 8 am on a chilly morning reached cal on 11
and managed to reach passport office by 11:15 after a soothing boat trip from howrah to fairlie....i wud like to suggest every1 going to cal to have that boat trip atleast in evening....its too picturesque to miss out!!
Anyways got my passport done after some last minute hassles due to my improper planning..then i headed to ireland embassy ....though didn't know where is embassy but found out somehow that its somewhere on parkstreet...
I dunno why the girls at embassies look like air hostesses but it surely feels good to talk and talk to them like their is no end to your queries :-)!!
After that i headed to some local cricket ground .....i always emphasise on how we shud njoy each and every moment of our lives becos these are the moments which are key ingredients of ur life....its nothing like to watch cricket on a sleepy winter afternoon dazzling with sunshine....I totally shut my mind from the outside world and flashbacked those days when we friends used to play cricket on sunday's aftrenoons...urggghh
By 5 i was at station and due to extra smartness on my part(I am son of a railway employee :-D),i went to enquire about trains in the inquiry on the platform as i was happily coming back knowing that my train is on 5:30 .....a TTE stopped me...ahhhh
TTE-"Show the ticket"
"Don't have ticket"
TT-"Pay 259"
"What??"
TT-"pay 259 fine"
"What have i done?"
TT(smiling cunningly)-"You are on platform without ticket"
"I just went to inquiry yo can confirm from them"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"Why don't u believe me,I am an IIT student"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"My father is in railway"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"My mausaji himself a TT"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"First talk to my father"
I tried to show him my mobile
TT-"No i don't want to talk...I dunno pay 259"
"My jijaji is CTI(all TTEs work under him)"
TT(hesitatingly)-"I dunno pay 259"
"Why don't u catch WT ppl,I haven't done anything wrong "
TTE-"U haven't taken PF ticket"
"I didn't know rule,i never took a ticket being a railway person"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"Why are u harrasing a student?"
TT-"I dunno pay 259"
"I don't have money"
TT-"How much do u have?"
"50 ....thtat's for my fare"
TT-"What if we check u and u have more?"
"It belong to friends"
By now he was getting frust
I told him loud and clear -"i won't pay...take me to jail"
TT-"ok do u have some document showing ur father is in railway"
Fortunately i had income tax return of my father in my bag....showed him
and he allowed me to leave ..
Bought a ticket of steel and carried it in my hand like i have won a lottery ticket and
sprinted towards my train which was whistling away by now...
As i huffed and puffed and grabbed a seat in train,I was kinda amused and was smiling on probably the funniest half an hour in my life!!!
